Filmography

  • Haunt (2017) - An experimental, narrative short film about a woman mourning the end of a brief affair with a younger man.

  • Weightless (2012) - A documentary film about a scuba-diving “camp” for plus-sized women. Aired on the Documentary Channel.

  • Silent Choices (2007) - A historical/educational documentary about abortion and the reproductive rights movement from the perspective of African Americans. Winner, “Best Documentary” at the Roxbury Film Festival.

  • Running on Eggshells (2003) - Grace faces a crisis of mental health and self-realization when a national tragedy unearths a childhood trauma. Screened at film festivals internationally, the film won the award for Best Narrative Short Film at the Reel Sisters Film Festival. It also aired on the U.S. television show, “African American Short Films.”

Grace (Joy Styles), a young and successful entrepreneur, has a crisis arising from traumatic events that leads her to visit a therapist for the first time. "Running on Eggshells" challenges the notion that African Americans don't need or seek out mental health care.
